    Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

    The holiday season is quickly approaching which means all of us will be cooking A LOT more than usual. Every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I spend SO many hours solely in the kitchen.

    So…. with as many hours as I have spent in the kitchen over the years cooking for the holidays, I have found a few staple recipes that me and my family absolutely LOVE!!

    One of our absolute favorites is Bacon Wrapped Green Beans. They are delicious!! Truly, it’s like eating candy. I promise this side dish will have even the pickiest of vegetable eaters going in for seconds and thirds.

    Now, I will be honest with you ….. everything that is healthy and nutritious about the green bean is completely nullified by the time you’re done wrapping them in bacon and then covering these little bundles of happiness in a delicious brown sugar-butter mixture.

    Hmm… I am beginning to think I should start calling this a dessert rather than a side dish. But isn’t indulging a little from time to time what the holidays are all bout?! (That’s what I’m telling myself anyway!)¬† Hehe!!

    So If you love green beans, bacon, butter, and brown sugar I HIGHLY recommend you try these little babies during your Christmas and holiday party season.

    Mmmmm… oh glorious day!!!! They really are delightful!!!

    Oh …. one more thing! These are not only sinfully delicious …. but they’re also gorgeous in presentation. They make you look like you worked a lot harder than you really did.

    Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

    Yield: 6-8 servings

    Ingredients:

    1 lb of Fresh Green Beans

    1 Package of Bacon; cut in half

    1/4 Cup of Packed Brown Sugar

    6-8 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter

    Pinch of Salt

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash and pat dry green beans. Snap ends off of ends of green beans. Take a bundle of green beans (4-6) and wrap in a half piece of bacon. Secure with a toothpick and place in a shallow baking dish.
    2. Melt butter and whisk in brown sugar and salt. Pour over green bean bundles. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until bacon is cooked through and green beans are tender.

    There you go! It really is such a simple and easy side dish or appetizer.

    Notes:

    • You can make the bundles bigger or smaller. It’s your personal preference.
    • For sweeter green beans add more sugar¬†
